The Korean Neuroendovascular Society (KoNES) (hereinafter referred to as the “Society”) values the protection of your personal
information and complies with the "Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection."
Through this Privacy Policy, the Society informs you about how the personal information you provide is used, the purpose of its collection, and
the measures taken to protect it.
If the Society revises this Privacy Policy, any updates will be announced through website notifications (or individual notices).
This policy is effective as of March 1, 2012.
1. Personal Information Collected
The Society collects the following personal information for membership registration, consultation, and service applications:
- Collected Information: ID, password, residency status (domestic/international), name (Korean & English), gender, date of birth,
email address, mobile phone number, activity region, affiliated hospital, medical license number, specialist license number,
medical specialty, position, and institution address.
- Collection Method: Through website membership registration.
2. Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information
The Society collects personal information for the following purposes:
- Service Fulfillment: Providing the requested services as part of contractual agreements.
- Others: Responding to inquiries and consultations.
3. Retention and Use Period of Personal Information
As a general principle, personal information is promptly destroyed once the purpose of collection and use is achieved. However, the following
information is retained for the specified period due to legal and internal policies:
- Retained Information: Name, email, phone number (landline & mobile), inquiry subject, and inquiry content.
- Retention Purpose: For consultation and inquiry history preservation.
- Retention Period: 5 years.
In addition, the Society retains personal information for a specific period as required by applicable laws, such as:
- Records of Consumer Complaints or Dispute Resolutions: 3 years (under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce).
4. Procedures and Methods of Personal Information Disposal
Once the purpose of personal information collection and use is fulfilled, the Society follows these procedures and methods for disposal:
- Disposal Procedures:
- Information entered for membership registration or other purposes is transferred to a separate database (or stored in paper form) after achieving its purpose.
- It is retained for a specified period according to legal and internal policies before being deleted.
- This data is not used for any purpose other than those specified by law.
- Disposal Methods:
- Electronic data: Permanently deleted using irreversible technical methods.
- Paper documents: Shredded or incinerated.
5. Provision of Personal Information
The Society does not provide users' personal information to external parties except in the following cases:
- When prior consent has been obtained from the user.
- When required by law or when requested by investigative authorities following legal procedures.
6. Outsourcing of Collected Personal Information
The Society does not outsource users' personal information without their consent. If outsourcing is necessary in the future, users will be notified,
and consent will be obtained as required.
7. Rights of Users and Legal Representatives & Their Exercise
- The Society does not permit individuals under the age of 14 to register as members. Any such registered information is immediately
deleted from the database.
- Users and their legal representatives can review or modify their registered personal information at any time and request membership
cancellation.
- To review or modify personal information, users can access "Edit Profile" (or similar options), and for membership
cancellation, they can use the "Withdraw Membership" option. Alternatively, they may contact the Privacy Officer
via written request, phone, or email for prompt assistance.
- If a user requests corrections to inaccurate personal data, the Society will not use or provide the information until the correction is
completed. If the incorrect data has already been shared with third parties, the Society will immediately notify them to apply the
necessary corrections.
- Personal information that has been canceled or deleted at the request of the user or their legal representative will be managed as
specified in the "Retention and Use Period of Personal Information" section, ensuring it is not accessed or used for
other purposes.
8. Automatic Collection of Personal Information via Cookies
The Society does not operate any system for automatically collecting personal information, such as cookies, when using internet services.
9. Personal Information Inquiries and Complaints
To protect your personal information and handle related complaints, the Society has designated a
Privacy Officer and Responsible Department
as follows:
Users may report any privacy-related complaints to the
Privacy Officer or the Responsible Department.
